What we collect
When you contact us. Name, email, company, and message — because we need them to reply. Stored in our CRM for the duration of our relationship, plus two years.
When you browse the site. Standard web analytics (page views, referral source, country, device type) via a privacy-respecting analytics tool. No session recording. No fingerprinting. No advertising trackers.
When you subscribe to Field Notes. Your email address and subscription preferences — nothing more.
What we don't collect
- We don't buy third-party data about you.
- We don't track you across other websites.
- We don't sell, rent, or trade your data to anyone, ever.
- We don't profile you for advertising purposes.
Cookies
We use one first-party cookie to remember your display preferences on this site. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings — nothing on the site will break if you do.
How we use your information
- To reply to your inquiry.
- To send Field Notes if you subscribed.
- To understand aggregate site usage and improve what we publish.
- To fulfill our legal, accounting, and tax obligations.

Who we share with
Only the service providers we use to operate the studio:
- Netlify — website hosting
- HubSpot — customer relationship management
- Cloudflare — security, DNS, and content delivery
- Resend — transactional and newsletter email
Each operates under a written data processing agreement. Your data is not shared beyond this list.
Your rights
If you're in the EU, UK, California, or anywhere with modern data rights, you can:
- Request a copy of what we hold on you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent for newsletters at any time

Security
We use TLS 1.3 in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest. Our CRM and cloud providers are SOC 2 Type II certified. If a data incident that affects your information ever occurs, we will disclose it within 72 hours of discovery.
International transfers
Our primary infrastructure is in the United States. If you contact us from the EU or UK, your data may be transferred to the US under standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards.
Children
Our services are not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will email you before the change takes effect.
